5 ways to wear sneakers

Someone asked me if I ever wear sneakers and how I wear them.

So here are my favorite 5 way's of styling my kicks;

1) With Mini A-line Skirts
A fluttery mini skirt and a tucked in T-shirt give a more girly or retro look, depending if you wear it with a funky over the top skirt like the tutu or a (ditsy floral printed) "vintage look" skirt. My rule for going crazy with the fluffy tutu's and sneakers? I keep my hair and make-up natural and don't wear any jewelry with it.

2) With Boy friend jeans
Sneakers go so well with boyfriend jeans, my rule for not looking like a boy? I always wear a fitted/tight top with it to give the whole look some feminine curves.

3) With above the knee Dresses
All dresses go with sneakers period. I mostly wear vintage dresses just above the knee as well as more girly romantic dresses, and I just love to wear the sneakers with socks of course. (like seen here)

4) With Leggings
I love the simplicity of leggings with sneakers, I mostly wear them with a loose fitted tee or sweater and love to top of the look with a blazer.(seen here)

5) With Maxi skirts and dresses
I often wear my sneakers under a maxi skirt or dress with a big sweater, very laid-back and "Olson" layered. Big sunnies and a big hobo bag almost a must ;)

INSPIRATION: Wings

(photo by Daniel Troyse, Caroline Blomst (Carolines Mode/Stockholm streetstyle)

I really love the winged shoes (2nd photo) in the Wendelien Daan shoot, no idea by whom they are! But my Wing love goes beyond shoes and winged jackets, think about winged eyes (eyeliner), pleated dresses and winged sleeves.

ps. I have such a hard time finding original soursec/photocredits via weheartit and tumblr!

OUTFIT: Dress and Trousers

I'm wearing: H&M divided lace dress (new) Zara trousers, H&M leopard tights (new) H&M necklace, Rebecca Minkoff woven flame bag, Jeffrey Campbell Mariel Wedge

I guess it was only a matter of time before I would mix and match something unusual again..

Partly out of curiosity and because I really felt like trying something new, especially something that is "out of fashion" (It's always fun to try to bring something back) I wear a dress over trousers.

My findings are that it really depends on the shape of the dress and the shape of the trousers to pull it off! The lace dress is a a-line mini and the trousers are peg legged, or tapered in at the leg/ankle.

Navy Blue and Brown

Steve Madden Boots, Navy/Royal blue Nylons

The Navy/Royal blue sheer tights are a nice replacement for black nylons, it really ads something different to a look. The tights are actually more of a Royal Blue but on the skin they look like a Navy (but still give a very blue shine) Besides giving a new oomph to the usual outfits with nylons these go beautiful with brown, golden and copper outfits!

Top 10 Fashion Blogger Homes

On the blogs we see a lot of interior design inspiration and bloggers are as much into their apartments as they are into fashion. So which fashion bloggers have the best homes? In this Top 10 we see a lot of the usual suspects but also a few surprises..

1 CUPCAKES and CASHMERE

It was hard to decide on the number one but after give it much thought the number 1 spot went to Emily from cupcakes&cashmere and this is why:

Emily created a very inviting home she decorated rooms differently keeping her partner in mind too.

The kitchen makes you want to cook and I love that she had a very playful and lighthearted approach to designing her workspace. Very important for my decision to give her the number 1 spot is the fact that I hope her ideas will give inspiration to others and the fact that her designs look very reasonable to to yourself even with a smaller budget.

2 The Glamourai

Kelly's home is just pure perfection! The fact that her home got featured on the Coveteur says a lot.

3 Sea of Shoes and Atlantis Home

I really love the mix of antiques and modern, prints and colors.

4 Elin Kling

Elin's apartment is perfect in every way and seems to come straight out of a design magazine which is also a bit my only disappointment.

5 KIMBERLEY GORDON (I LOVE WILDFOX)

Kimberley's home feels like a sanctuary too, a very personal collection of beautiful finds and furniture makes me really want to open every drawer.

6 SHAE ACOPIAN DETAR

The collection of antiques is just beyond amazing, lush velvet and silk drapes and pillows, beautiful lampshades and collectables..

7 THE CHERRY BLOSSOM GIRL

Well, French apartments are probably on every ones top list and the Cherry Blossom Girl's apartment is my personal favorite.

8 LOVE AESTHETICS

Ivania's minimalistic apartment has some clever DIY tweaks and is a great example how personal style is much more then fashion only.

9 5 INCH AND UP

I really wish I could see more of Sandra's apartment because I'm pretty sure I would love everything.
The exposed brick is just beautiful.

10 FASHION NERDIC

The very minimalistic lay out showcases Ilanka color statement beautifully!

11 SONG OF STYLE

Aimee's (Aw-Meeh) San Francisco Apartment.

12 THIS CHICK GOT STYLE

I really love the classic vs modern thing Yara has going on and I would love to see more of her apartment!
